When you first start increase the amount of fiber you intake, start of slowly so that your body can become acustomed to the change and won't react badly to it. When looking for foods with high amounts of fiber, always go for the whole wheat option if it is available. This is extremely important when eating high calorie foods like pastas and breads. Whole wheat foods contain higher amounts of fiber than their alternatives, making them the perfect choice for those looking to make changes in their eating habits. Vegetables and fruits are an even better choice.

One last piece of advice. Don't go fiber crazy. Fiber can help you lose weight but that doesn't mean that you should center your entire diet around it. Eating it too much can have negative effects on your digestive system and bowel movements. Also eat foods that don't contain much fiber and drink liquids to sort of balance things out.
